Dr F.D. Otajevwo studied Microbiology (1990) and Medical Laboratory Science (1996) at the University of Benin and University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Nigeria respectively. He did his fellowship (2017) in Medical Laboratory Science at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. He bagged his M.Sc (1993) in Medical Microbiology and Ph.D (2009) in Microbiology from the University of Benin, Nigeria. Dr Otajevwo has a post graduate diploma in Education from University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He started his teaching carrier in Redeemer University, Nigeria, from where he joined Western Delta University, Nigeria where he has been since 2009. In June, 2021, he was announced as a full Professor of Medical Microbiology. He has over 35 research article publications in scientific journals.
