Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary field that uses biological systems and organisms to develop or create products aimed at improving human life and environmental sustainability. This presentation covers the scope of biotechnology, with an emphasis on current advances such as CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, immunotherapy, regenerative medicine, and synthetic biology. It also explores future directions in personalized medicine, microbiome research, bioinformatics, and environmental biotechnology. Key challenges, including ethical considerations, funding, public engagement, and workforce development, are addressed. The presentation identifies opportunities in healthcare, sustainable agriculture, environmental preservation, and economic growth, concluding with a summary of key insights. As the industry expands, it is essential to balance scientific advancement with ethical, social, and environmental considerations.

Biography:

I, Auwalu Muttaka, an aspiring and highly motivated youth with an enthusiasm to carve a path towards successful research and a professional career in Molecular Biology.

I studied Biochemistry at the Bayero University Kano, Kano-Nigeria and graduated in 2012. Afterward I was awarded an overseas scholarship award by the Kano State Government of Nigeria to study M.Sc. Biotechnology with specialization in Molecular Biology at Lovely Professional University Punjab India. I graduated in 2016 with first division. I started working as an Assistant Lecturer with Department of Biochemistry Federal University Gusau, Zamfara-Nigeria from 2nd September, 2019 to date. I began searching for academic engagement to polish my expertise in biotechnology for better professional and research opportunities in Nigeria. I published more than 20 research articles.
