Title: Power alcohol production from sawdust

Abstract:

Research into alternate ethanol production pathways has been spurred by the need for sustainable energy sources, and lignocellulosic biomass has emerged as a viable feedstock. An integrated method that includes pre-treatment, fermentation, distillation, and enzymatic hydrolysis is described in this abstract for producing ethanol from sawdust. pre-treatment designed to increase cellulose and hemicellulose accessibility by upsetting the lignin-carbohydrate matrix. To ensure effective enzymatic hydrolysis later on, a variety of techniques, including alkaline treatment, acid hydrolysis, and steam explosion, have been investigated as sawdust pre-treatment optimisations. Distillation is used to separate and concentrate ethanol while recovering byproducts like lignin and wasted yeast that may be valued. Techniques for energy integration, such solvent recovery and heat exchange, can lower operating costs and improve process efficiency. All things considered, the integrated process provides a viable solution to produce ethanol from sawdust, utilising cutting-edge technology to get high yields while addressing environmental issues and encouraging resource efficiency
