Nowadays, the number of outbreaks of epidemics associated with viral infection and mortality due to myocardial infarction (MI) and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) has increased significantly. The recent emergence of several strains of Influenza viruses with pandemic potentials as well as the COVID-19 and AIDS pandemics has led to a growing interest in the control of these infections to preserve human health. Firstly, Influenza viruses, Coronaviruses, HIV, Hepatitis B and C viruses, etc. belong to the group of enveloped viruses with a lipid membrane. Secondly, MI and CVA are usually caused by an obstruction of the blood vessels by a blood clot leading to the stop of blood circulation. Bioemulsifiers/Biosurfactants (BE/BS) are surface-active amphiphilic bio-molecules with less toxicity produced by lactobacilli “GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status” isolated from traditional fermented milk (Pendidam) of the Adamaoua Region (Cameroon) that possess multiple functional properties. Their emulsifying properties for example could be used to disintegrate effectively the viral envelope leading to the death of the virus and to solubilize the blood clot leading to the recovery of the blood circulation in the affected vessel. The aim of the present report is to exploit the potential properties of BE/BS produced by lactobacilli isolated from Pendidam and to value them as bio-therapeutic alternatives in the fight against AIDS, COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B and C, MI and CVA.
