Title: Potential of medicinal plants in antimicrobial resistance
Abstract:
As antibiotics are widely used in medical and agricultural applications, the development of antibiotic resistance (AMR) continues to diversify and raise serious public concerns. Although AMR naturally occurs, the lack of antibiotic use in recent decades has contributed to its rapid development and spread. As AMR occurs and bacterial infections do not respond, there is an interest in the search for new natural antimicrobials, plant compounds and antimicrobial peptides. Available data show that the intrinsic health-promoting properties of various plant-based matrixes can be effectively exploited and improved in the development of effective treatments for AMR. It has beneficial effects on most microorganisms. Consequently, strict, well-designed and well-structured research is extremely important in order to determine the supply of new, relatively safe and cost- effective natural antibiotics. Thus, this presentation will highlight the challenges associated with current therapies, the understanding of the pathogenesis of AMR infection, the importance of diagnosis and natural drugs for improving the therapeutic efficacy. The presentation will also be focused on challenges of natural therapies in the health system, the application of biomedicine and the ecological aspect.
Audience Take Away Notes :
- The presentation will help research scholars to get better insight on alternative systems/approaches to discover or invent treatment against AMR.
- The AMR is the one of the biggest challenges in the healthcare sector by attending this presentation, participants will get the exposure of novel targets and methodology used by the industries and research institutions to explore natural products as a potential molecule in drug discovery for AMR.
- In this presentation the participants will be exposed to cumulative data base on AMR which will help the students and faculties of biotechnology and related disciplines and fields.
- The data will provide different protocols and experimental designing used to study the efficacy and profiling of medicinal plants against AMR. It will help participants to widen their knowledge and designing of research methodology.
- The cumulative information will be provided in the presentation that will help participants to review the information and cumulative and share their difficulties experienced by them during their research
