Jaiphal is one of those herbal drugs prominent for its pharmaceu?cal assets.Jaiphal which is tradi?onally known as Ja?phal and Javitri in India and some Asian countries. It has one common name which is Nutmeg. Being a part of the family Myris?caceae, it is known for its flavour and therapeu?c use. It is a good body detoxifier and s?mulates the brain. The presence of limonene, sabinene, camphene, eugenol, myris?c acid, myris?cin, and lignin make it a useful applica?on in medicine. It has high contents of minerals, carbohydrates, and protein.It has various other proper?es such as an?diabe?c, an?carcinogenic, an?depressant, an?obesity, an?diarrheal, and hepatoprotec?ve. Its seed has 5-15% vola?le oil, and fixed oil of 25-40% and these are used to treat condi?ons such as sprains and muscle pain. In Unani medicine, nutmeg is used for managin sexual disorders. It is observed that various nutrients are found n the Jaiphal seed which makes it a paramount seed.
